Each year Lily's Garden sponsors a team for the Country Music Marathon
and Half-Marathon in April. In both 2009 and 2010, approximately 70 children and 35 adults participated for Lily's Garden.
In 2011, the adult race is on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The Kids' Marathon is the day before - Friday,
April 29, 2011. We will sponsor both an adult team and a children's team. Each participant who runs for Lily's
Garden will receive a free Lily's Garden Country Music Marathon 2011 t-shirt. The 2011 t-shirts will be a new design
and a new color. In order to receive a t-shirt, you must email csj849@gmail.com with your t-shirt size. Lily and Sophie are both doing the kids' marathon, and we will have a Lily's Garden tent
set up at the kids' marathon with refreshments and prizes. Two years ago Lily was too sick to participate in the marathon. Last year
she was able to participate but had difficulty running because of bone and muscle problems because of her chemo.
This year she will be a couple months off treatment, and we hope she will have regained much of her strength. It will
be a CELEBRATION of how far she has come since December 1, 2008 when she was first diagnosed. We hope you can join us
for this wonderful day! You don't have to raise money to
be part of the Lily's Garden team. Raising awareness is our primary focus. However, if you want to get sponsors
and raise money, we will gladly accept it! As always, any money donated to Lily's Garden goes 100% to research on childhood
cancer. Any funds you raise for Lily's Garden can
be donated via a check to "Vanderbilt Children's Hospital." Write "Lily's Garden" on the memo part
of the check so the money will go directly to the Lily's Garden Childhood Cancer Research Fund at Vandy.
 After not being able
to participate the previous year, Lily was thrilled to run the Kids' Marathon in 2010.
In 2009, Lily was at the marathon
to cheer on the Lily's Garden team. However, the side effects of the chemo made her unable to run. So she cheered them
on from the sidelines.

100% of all funds raised through Lily's Garden
will go to the Lily's Garden Endowment in Childhood Cancer at Vanderbilt University. Funds raised via the Country Music
Marathon & LLS webpages will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

Most
of the LILY'S GARDEN "racers" were actually walkers. So don't let the words "marathon"
and "1/2-marathon" intimidate you. We had a blast in 2009 & 2010, and we'll have a blast in 2011.
