2024 - 2025
Molly Talman, M.D.
During the 2024-2025 academic year, Lily’s Garden Fellowship in Childhood Cancer supported Molly Talman, M.D., a third-year fellow in the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Talman attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children’s Hospital. Dr. Talman has a variety of academic interests, including leukemia, bone marrow and stem cell transplant, and medical education. She was selected for this fellowship due to her novel area of research, the study and incorporation of informatics, such as artificial intelligence (AI), in pediatric oncology and survivorship care. Through your support, Dr. Talman was able to advance her own research while pursuing a master’s degree in applied clinical informatics.
In addition to advancing Dr. Talman’s research, Lily’s Garden Fellowship in Childhood Cancer supported the advances of AI in our program. Dr. Talman is collaborating with other physicians locally and nationally who specialize in the intersection of AI and medicine to advance research efforts and translation to the clinic. Your investment has powered this research, deepening our understanding of AI and delivering better outcomes for children with cancer.
